A team from a restricted-access nation saw the need for a digital space where young people could share their struggles. With your support, Gleam of Hope was created, a quiz-based program that meets seekers where they are, connects them with an online missionary, and leads them to their deepest need: a personal relationship with Jesus. The program launched in seven countries in 2025, and its user experience was actually developed by a OneHope Cultivate intern!

In 1943, “Little Bobby” began preaching as a child evangelist at just 7 years old. From the beginning, his message was clear: the Gospel must be proclaimed to the world.
A Calling Begins
By the 1960s and ‘70s, Bob was ministering across the Middle East and North Africa — helping plant churches, distribute Scripture, and strengthen believers in volatile regions. These years forged a defining conviction: the Gospel belongs everywhere, especially in the hardest-to-reach places.
Courage in Hard Places
In 1986, God gave Bob a vision revealing the spiritual need of children and youth worldwide and a mandate to reach them with His Word.
In 1987, the first distribution of the Book of Hope took place in El Salvador, placing Scripture into the hands of 968,000 children.
OneHope was founded with a singular commitment: God’s Word. Every Child.
OneHope is Founded
What began in one nation quickly crossed continents. Throughout the 1990s, OneHope expanded into the former Soviet Union, Africa, Asia, and beyond through partnerships with churches, ministries, and leaders. By the end of its first decade, the ministry was reaching millions annually.
Across Borders
Digital Breakthrough
In 2013, the launch of the Bible App for Kids, created in partnership with YouVersion, marked a new era.
Within its first week, the app surpassed 1 million downloads.
As digital access accelerated in 2020 and beyond, Scripture engagement expanded globally through innovative digital programs.
In 2023, OneHope reached its 2 billionth child with God’s Word in El Salvador, where it all began in 1987.
That same year also marked 80 years of ministry for our founder, Bob; eight decades devoted to advancing the Gospel!
A Historic Milestone
Vision 2033 accelerates the mission to reach 2 billion more children and youth with God’s Word, equip churches worldwide to biblically disciple 20 million young people, and develop 100,000 Christian leaders.
What began as one man’s obedience has become a global movement to reach every child, in every generation, with Jesus through His Word.
